Greetings,
The following article starts off sounding like a marketing pitch for yet another CF degree program, but it turns into a pretty good summary of CF training options. Definitely worth reading for anyone thinking about getting into the field.

Interesting that the author spends time insisting that licensing is inevitable and yet looking at the recent legislation coming out of states, it's trending in the opposite direction.
Funny also that in mentioning training she intimates that it's all for-profit, which admittedly the majority numerically are, but there are some very good QuaNGOs, and pure non-profit orgs training in CF, although they do all seem to limit training to LEO/Gov.
Greetings,
I agree. I almost tuned out after the first paragraph but thankfully kept going.
The fact that the only non-profit training options are available for LE is another source of frustration, but it is not surprising.

Getting LEOs to volunteer their time to train other LEOs is not that hard. Getting anyone to volunteer to train their potential competition is an entirely different animal.
