A little background

Started dabbling in computers back in the late 90s. Well versed in majority of hardware and software troubleshooting techniques. Achieved my MCP in July 2009.

I am currently working as a Level III Help Desk Analyst but I see no room for advancement at my current employer. I am enrolled at a community college studying Criminal Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security. Once finished, I will transfer to a four-year school to get my BS in Digital Security. I have not decided if I will continue to get my Masters.

I want to maximize my chances of employment after graduation as well as my earning potential. I have a current 3-year plan to complete my schooling as well as achieve the following certificates - MCSA (Security), MCSE (Security), CCNA, CISSP. From what I can gather, the CISSP certification will be the hardest to achieve.

What would be the most logical process to follow in order to complete all of this within my time frame? Here is the specifics I set for myself

- MCSA (Security) by December 2011
- MCSE (Security) by March 2012
- CCNA by winter 2012
- CISSP by winter 2013

If all goes well with schooling, I should have the Bachelors by spring 2014. What I would like to know is if I should change the order I achieve these certifications. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The certs you have listed are not related to forensics. They might help you in the long run overall, but not directly getting a forensic job in my opinion. I'd look into a generic cert like the CCE if you are going for forensics.

This should have been posted under "Education and Training" - and do you realize this is a forum dedicated to forensics and not digital security? As Earn mentioned, none of the certs you're seeking are forensics related.

What are your career aspirations?
