For the life of me I can't figure out how to get this device into download mode. I've tried the following
Volume Up + Power - this gets into Android Recovery Mode
Volume Down + Power - device just starts
Volume Up + Volume Down Plug USB into Computer - Android Recovery Mode
Any ideas?

Shut down the phone, install the MTK drivers, hold Vol+ and plug in USB cable already attached to PC. This should be the "MTK mode".

Thank you! That worked! But unfortunately I'm unable to get my tool to remove the passcode.
