I am looking into BIOS vs EFI. Including advantages and disadvantages of both. Hardware /Software support. Compatibility issues with larger HDD/ RAM. Plus any additional information that may be useful.

What is the forensic part of your question? Perhaps this is a question better served by a hardware forum such as TweakTown or Tomshardware.

What I find particularly intriguing is the comparison between something that is vastly NOT documented/standardized (and thus each and every BIOS maker has it's own implementations/features and issues) and EFI/UEFI, which is documented to such an extent that the actual specifications consist of 2180 pages 😯 (and thus each and every implementation will be different from one another).

I personally find EFI/UEFI the wrong answer to a wrong question. cry

BUT you will need EFI/UEFI for a number of features (in recent Windows OS) to work.
