Can any of you guys help out?
I have been asked to examine a Blackberry, afiliated with Vodaphone. Nothing else was seized with the device and i dont know the model number. it is new i think and bought in the UK. The only connectivity it has is is a mini USB side port. It is happily trickle charging through this so the data is ok.
I use Parabens PDA seizure software, the new version with blackberry support. The problem is, when you run through the acquisition wizard, the software only looks at serial connectivity. The USB option that is present in the palm and CE acquisition wizard is not present.
I have tried using a driver to tell a USB port that it is a serial port and although this fooled my PC, it dosnt work because the driver is designed to work with a USB to serial converter. Google tells me that it is not possible to convert a PC serial port to USB so i am stumped. I have mailed Paraben twice, but got no reply…..any 1 got any tips? 🙁

email this guy,

kevin@paraben.com
he was very prompt with my enquiry as i had a similar problem with a nokia phone and a USB DKU5 cable. Fortunately the zip file which was sent to me was able to convert USB to serial and i was able to see the phone in Paraben. Dont know whether it will work with blackberry though? lmk if u want the file & i will email it to you.
