Where are some of the best places to obtain hard drives for use in head swaps, etc.? And do companies usually stock up on different drives beforehand, or buy as they need it?

they'll carry a stock of drives but will often subscribe to hardware part networks such as Brokerbin for parts. There are also a few companies that specialise in supplying drives, but they are part of the brokerbin network anyway.
ebay isnt that good a suggestion accurate matching can be difficult.
