The standard defines the withdrawal of common manufacturer wide0usage default password replacing with a unique default password per device should cut-down mass-device attacks and limit any attack per device. That could be quite useful if user says I've been hacked using wide-spread default password. 

The mentioned standard has other security aspects useful to digital and IoT forensics.
