I am investigating a case in which the odometer has been changed.  I am trying to determine if there is a method to prove it - such as forensically examining the vehicles electronic circuit.  Does anyone know what I can do?

Many thanks.

Please dont feel offended. On ForensicFocus also criminals hide to learn. Can you first please give more data about you to build trust? Please try to understand that opening a new account looks suspicious.

I'm not offended.  I have been a member since 2019 so not a new member.  And not sure what other information I need to provide.  But thank you for your response.  I have other folks I can reach out to for the answer to my question.

Fine, see its a basic problem of eTrust. Besides others registered for years e.g. 2017. But does this really proof the trustworthyness? Odometer manipulations question: If I explain how to find-out, others learn how to trick. eTrust on FF is a BIG problem for years, nobody brings to light. Good luck!

Most states require millage entry at yearly inspections now. That would be a good place to start.

From a digital standpoint it depends on the make/model involved. I have had luck proving tampering in VW and Ford in the past.

As posted earlier by others, I too am reluctant to share in open post details as to "how" if you are dealing with one of those DM me and I may be able to assist, upon some verification of who we both are. 😉
