We very much welcome new posts to the forums but before posting please search to check that your question hasn't already been answered and when you do post

1. Always post in the most appropriate forum.

2. Give as much information as you can about the problem. Most people are very willing to help but it can be frustrating if there are obvious gaps which need to be filled before they can do so. Describe the general context of the situation, explain something about your own background or experience if relevant, describe any hardware or software in detail (including version numbers) etc. The more information you can give, the more likely you are to get a useful reply.

3. Say what you've already done to answer the question or solve the problem and don't be afraid to admit your own limitations. This prevents others from going over the same ground but perhaps more importantly it shows that you've already put your own effort in and just can't get any further. In that case most people will be only too happy to help and you'll get the answers you're looking for.

The above tips should help you get the most out of our forums and we look forward to welcoming you to our community.

PS One request - if you see spam or other undesirable posts in these forums please contact me about it at admin @ or via the "Contact Us" link in the main menu (don't reply to such posts - it only makes them more visible!)
