Identify bug transmitter manufacturer

I believe the OP already tried a cheap scanner on the photo 😯 (the ONLY thing he has in his hands) but somehow the picture wasn't transmitting anything wink .

And i believe that someone is unable to determine when someone else made a post by ignoring timestamps on forums.

I have a photo of an unidentified bug transmitter that has been edited hiding an identifiable mark on the bug which may show its user organization.

To be fair, it is possible to read the "that has been edited" to be referring to the actual device and not to the photo, hence the misunderstanding, definitely cleared in the second post that couldn't be read in time.

Are you telling me that the photo you linked to - seemingly taken 11 years ago [1] - does represent a photo of an electronic device?

Al I can see is an image of an out of focus blur of *something*, I was expecting something more similar to - say - this one

In that image I cannot even see the bug or its shape. ?

My apologies to all for framing the question the way I did. I know the photo is crap but it is all I have to work with. I will detail how and what I have done and my reason for doing so. I have not edited the photo in any way, what you see is what I got. NOT trying to hide info, I just asked a poor question. Again, I apologize.

A short list…
1. Micro SD card discovered w/ 29 avi files with 3 min segments on each file. Still photos (bug photo) retrieved from one of the 3 min avi files. Camera use was a cheap spy cam showing bogus time stamp, sorry about violation of time stamp policy. Time frame 2013/14. Photo taken (shot) at family residence. This micro SD card was found in a hearing aid case in a pouch in a chest drawer which belonged to my deceased mother. She passed in 2014.
Why Letting me know info without disclosing their identity. Someone appears to be helping in some way (by way of the SD card drop, location and reasonable circumstances for going through her belongings to settle estate…) but I fear there under duress.
2. Reason for post was simply to gather an open source way to pursue a course of action that WOULD not include LE at any level because I believe that a 3 letter agency is involved from other evidence I have possession of. I will go to LE at right time. A bug planted illegally is a federal crime even if it's a 3 letter advising and having someone else to do the dirty work. My reason for asking about the bug, it is fed. (cause of action), doesen't dox anyone or get that much attention.
3. The tactics used and operations executed show a high level of knowledge and the skill sets used. Who edits an avi file to hide the identity of location and then discovers a detail in footage and then edits an ID on a bug to hide it even deeper??? This is NOT your normal gang of shills or local trash in play here, IMHO.

hmb3 you mention Micro SD Card and .avi. Did you discover any detail of the device etc that created the .avi that might give you a lead (e.g. serial number, config of image etc)? Anything on the card file system, deleted etc? Lastly, is there anything in your earlier post https://forensicfocus.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=14840/ connected to this post?

On a different aspect, how do you know the image has been altered? What tool did you use for verification?
