Indexing in EnCase Forensic 6.14

Having been put off from using the indexing function in EnCase due to it not being… 'efficient' when it was launched, I'm now considering using it as I understand that it now works. I'd be interested in hearing whether indexing and searching the index in EnCase Forensic is now a workable alternative to that in FTK for example.

I'd also like to know some estimates of sizes of indexes required to index various cases. I know that's a 'how long is piece of string' type question, but any rough indication would be good. Am thinking of getting a 128GB SSD to put indexes on, would this be of sufficient size for the index in the majority of cases?
