I am trying to get a greater understanding of how an iPhone iOS Snapshot is captured (A2221 iPhone 11). I have read online the following response:

"iOS typically takes snapshots of a user's screen when an application is suspended by pressing the home screen or switching between apps so that it can be shown while being reloaded. This is all stored in the snapshots folder."

Can anyone confirm based on their testing or experience that this statement is correct?

The following filepath relates to where the Snapshots potentially relevant to my case are stored:

File system Extraction.zip/root/mnt2/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/EC8E5439-748F-4152-ACCC-2F4A081B2109/Library/SplashBoard/Snapshots/sceneID/com.apple.Music-default/C1166897-4B92-41CE-81AA-08E872501423@2x.ktx

The main question I would like help with is, can these Snapshots be created without some type of previous user activity (i.e. these images would not be captured if the user had not interacted with the phone)?

Many thanks,

Tom.
