Is it possible to recover long deleted photos, videos and browsing history from these models. I have full access to both units although they haven't been charged for a few months. If so, which tools should I be using for best results? thanks

What time frame is relevant between last usage and the deletion of stated "photos, videos and browsing history" occur?

Both not been charged for approx 6 months and deletions were 6-9 months ago.
Charge in 2 dummy phones 2 new batteries for these devices, then put them in your devices. This way you won't automatically turn on your devices once charged enought for powering on.
Most probably both devices are checkm8 compatible, so if you know the passcode of them, acquisition of the devices is possible from DFU mode, without turning them on, so nothing modifies on the devices filesystems.
