All,
You have all been a wealth of knowledge and support here. Thank you all so very much for taking the time to respond and provide your experience and insight into mobile forensics. All of your responses have been highly eye opening. I thank you all for your time and energy.

@DCSS1094 - Great lead on Teel. They appear to not only teach methodologies and best practices wrt mobile forensics but offer insights on all of the vendor's tools. I'll be looking closer at them.

@trewmte - outstanding advice. Sage advice on all of the pros and cons. Your response has clarified and solidified my understanding of the training and what is available and it's relative value to me.

@Adam10541 - thank you for your insight and time as well. I know the training is really only as good as the trainer no matter how good the product. I picked the CFCE as a starting point mainly because it was vendor neutral as it taught concepts, principles and understanding as opposed to which button to press.

As a 20 year systems engineer at Intel Corporation, I have learned not to trust all tools to tell me what I need to know. I need to see it for myself and verify with the tools. Thank guys so very much again for taking the time to offer advice on this.

Greg Hooper, CFCE
