The new iOS 12.4 iPhone to iPhone direct data transfer capability seems like a new potential forensic collection vector

Perhaps one could transfer data from the iPhone being "imaged" to a specially configured, potentially jail broken "collection" iPhone, which could then be physically imaged, for example.
