I realise this isn't forensics related as such, however as many of you may also work on isolated (from the internet) networks, you may have had the same minor irritation.
Win7, the little network icon, has a yellow apostrophe warning triangle, saying no internet access. Question is, how can i stop it displaying that as an error/warning? As there's not meant to be any internet access, its a lan with no internet connection.
(and i dont mean by removing the network icon completely p)

There is no option in Notification Area Icon to just show the icon with no notifications.

Its an exclamation mark not an apostrophe )

It was before midday, my brain wasn't fully operational yet, yes i mean an exclamation mark 😉
I know there's no option (as i've looked everywhere) p I'm hoping someone has a cunning way to trick it into not checking for the internet, or anything really, to get rid of the internet related exclamation mark. Not that i'm picky about stuff or anything…..

Well you can get rid of the network icon all together…

Control Panel -> All Control Panel Items ->Notification Area Icons

and hide icon AND notifications.

But I am assuming you want the icon still there?

Guessing there is a reg tweak…

Found it

Start -> Run

gpedit.msc

local computer policy -> user configuration -> network -> network connections -> Turn Off notifications when a connection only has limited or no connectivity

give it a whirl

Thanks.
I too will give that a try. I posted a similar question on the MCSE forum and was told there was no way to get rid of the warning triangle.

Cheers Douglas,
No effect here though, and the description box on the left says it only applies to XP SP2+ / Win2k3 Server.
Pesky MS, wanting me to sit here in a state of constant worry.
Doh
