Can anyone help me on what are the attribute changes when a HD is switched between two machines?

The first time you use a HDD in a Windows system, it's going to put an ID on it. This is what happens when you "Initialise" a disk. Once it has an ID, it doesn't get done again by virtue of putting it in a new Windows system. At that point, there's multiple possible changes that can occur depending on how you use it. If the FS is NTFS, there's possible account/permissions based changes that can occur under certain usage and so on.

The answer is way too broad to give you a short simple answer. You could spend days dealing with possible changes from different usage.
