i am working a case concerning facebook chat between two individuals. within the facebook chat recovered, the facebook id numbers remain the same but one of the names changes in the chat.
Example
1/31/2016 2220
user 1 (1002345) whats up?
user 2 (1002367) not much!
2/2/2017 0640
user 1 (1002345) u there?
user 6 (1002367) yeah
user 1 and 6 have different names but same facebook id number within the same chat..
HOW CAN THIS BE?
i am assuming user 1 deactivated the account and created user 6 using a common factor from his original user 1 and facebook is cross referencing..
Facebook display names can be changed at will, only IDs and name-derived URLs are fixed (the latter one not truly, but not relevant here).
So would they change name appear in a conversation where the previous name was displayed as well
