Dear Forensic Focus Community,
I am currently the only Digital Forensic Lecturer based in Baghdad, Iraq. Recently, I have taken initiative to introduce Digital Forensics in Baghdad and I’m proud to share that it has been adopted by four universities so far.
Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity are still very new disciplines in the whole of Iraq. There remains significant lack of awareness, resources, tools, training and established policies including cyber crime laws and legal guidelines. My goal is to change this and help build a foundation for these critical fields to grow.
I am reaching out to this respected community for guidance, knowledge sharing and possible support. Collaboration with experienced professionals would be invaluable in expanding awareness and assisting law enforcement and governmental bodies in addressing cyber crimes effectively.
I am also in the process of introducing Digital Forensics to the Ministry of Defense and local policing agencies. Any form of mentorship, partnership or contribution whether through expertise, training or access to forensic tools would make a tremendous difference. then I can speak with the universities to recognise your help and support to be used for refrences.
Currently, I am self-funding my work and attempting to acquire essential tools such as FTK Toolkit, Belkasoft, and Cellebrite which are unfortunately very expensive. Additionally, hardware such as write blockers is not available anywhere in Iraq. If any organisations or companies are willing to offer support, partnerships or discounted licenses, it would greatly accelerate the establishment of a proper forensic infrastructure.
This is one of my few posting on this forum, I will be looking into this forum more and learn from others sharing here and I truly hope to connect with others who can offer advice, mentorship, or collaboration to advance Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity in Iraq.
kind Regards
Silentell
