Hello all, not really a computer forensic scientist but just a consumer I guess you would say. I recently snapped my microSD in half and was wondering if I could retrieve any data off of it? If not, who and how would they fix a card like this?
I'd say that it depends. You could be lucky and be able to recover the info, but the best way to do so would be to send it to a recovery service (not a cheap one I might add).
The outcome could be positive, but I wouldn't keep my hopes up.
BTW Let me know what happens.
ouch, looks like your going to be very unlucky, especially if the chips that hold the data have been damaged, if not then a specialist MIGHT be able to recover the data, but its going to be very very very expensive.
Thank you for your responses! I was wondering when you meant "very" expensive is that like a 1,000-5,000US dollar range?
as I said all depends on whats been snapped, if its the memory chips themselves then I would say you may not get anything back, you could be looking at 3 or 4 times more than that cost, but you wouldn't find out until you've spoken to a specialist data recovery company.
I see, thank you for the help. I'll try and see about a data recovery company. Thank you for the information again!
