I saw this a while back on TechTV and I forgot how they did it. How/What would be the best way to encode/decode text that is hidden within an image file?
Try a program called Camouflage.
This program uses the "right click" method as opposed to a sequence of keys to pull up a hidden panel.
Just as when you right click on a file you would see "extract here" "open with" etc. in a large number of stego programs you will see "camo" or some similiar term.
You can find plenty of programs to hide text in images, or even in music files, etc…..
but the measure problem is how do u detect whether this image has any test hiden in it or not, if somehow u detect it, how can u decode it …….
I haven't researched this area to the extent that I would like, but for an easy read, try this site…

Dr. Johnson is an authority on steg, and I would recommend researching his work on this topic.
