Hi,

we need to trace the MAC address or the source of  photo uploaded on Facebook for forensics' purposes.

the link of photo is: (we have replaced some characters for privacy purposes)

https://scontent-lhr8-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/ 123456789_2468102468_35913611476_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&ccb=3&_nc_sid=8bfeb9&_nc_ohc=gCSyPAqKcXYZG8JnbzY&_nc_ht=scontent-lhr8-2.xx&oh=78aa652b9cfc6c1xx33a1d157898f31d&oe=354B8327

What does the colored numbers mean (Red, Blue, Green, Pink and brown)

Thank You

I have worked on Facebook URLs along time ago. Here is a little help, it may help you. I will answer to it after sometime briefly.

  1. https://scontent-lhr8-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/ : scontent: either refers to source content or static content , fbcdn is Facebook Content Distribution Network or Facebook Caching Data Network
  2. 123456789_2468102468_35913611476_n.jpg? is the name of image when you save it from Facebook
  3. _nc_cat=101&ccb=3&_nc_sid=8bfeb9&_nc_ohc=gCSyPAqKcXYZG8JnbzY&_nc_ht=scontent-lhr8-2.xx&oh=78aa652b9cfc6c1xx33a1d157898f31d&oe=354B8327 :

    • oh refers to Object Header and oe refers to Object End

Hi,

we need to trace the MAC address or the source of  photo uploaded on Facebook for forensics' purposes.

MAC addresses are layer 2 routing within a local network, they do not appear in layer 3 Internet Protocol at all.

There is no such thing as a MAC address associated with an upload unless you're already inside the target's local network, in which case you would likely have no need to ask such a question.
