QUESTION:Â Â What source or sources do iPhones use to determine geolocation data, which is then embedded in photographs taken by iPhones?
Is Geolocation data being pulled from Cell Towers, WiFi netorks, a combination of both?
Within an HEIC image file, OSForensics was able to extract the following EXIF metadata:
GPS Latitude Ref:Â North

GPS Longitude Ref:Â West
GPS Longitude:Â 87 deg 44' 55.39"
GPS Altitude Ref: Above Sea Level
GPS Altitude:Â 183.4873431 m
GPS Speed Ref:Â km/h
GPS Speed:Â 0
GPS Img Direction Ref:Â True North
GPS Img Direction:Â 178.0244216
GPS Destination Bearing Ref:Â Ture North
GPS Destination Bearing:Â 178.0244216
GPS Horizontal Positioning Error:Â 4.648481958 m
