FTK Within Search Results

I cannot figure out how to run "within" index searches in FTK. I previously thought the syntax for them was "word1 w/2 word2" but recently, this has been returning items with hits on ONLY word1 which is causing an over responsive issue. I looked through the FTK User Manual and cannot seem to find a fix for this. Am I using the right syntax? Is this search only possible in Live Search? Just kind of unsure what to try from here.
