Who’s Using Amped Software Products?

In this “Enhanced Reflections” article, Martino Jerian, Amped Software‘s CEO, will share some aggregated data related to the company, its products and services, and other information you may find interesting. It is being published in December 2021, so if you are reading this later, the numbers will likely be higher.

Very often when potential customers are researching products, a pretty common question they ask us is “who’s using your software?”. We take privacy and security very seriously, and we don’t publish customers’ names or logos without their permission. This permission, for public safety and national security organizations, is actually quite hard to get by official means or takes way too long. So we are rarely nominating users and cases explicitly.

As of today, we have sold our products and services in over 100 countries and territories worldwide. Note that this does not include trials and test projects, but only countries where licenses have been officially purchased.

In order to properly cover all these markets, we work hard to localize and translate our software. As an example, Amped FIVE is currently available in 13 different languages.

How many users does Amped Software have? This is a bit difficult to estimate. As our software is bought by organizations and is usually licensed per machine, often multiple users share the same workstation in the lab or in different shifts. What we can tell you is that we have sold thousands of licenses to more than 1200 different end-user organizations belonging to law enforcement, government agencies, forensic labs, military, prosecutors, and other professional groups.

Education is a fundamental part of what we do, and so far we have trained more than 2400 people from 77 different countries with in-depth courses about our tools and the foundations of image and video forensics. You can learn more about our online and in-person training courses here.

So what does all this mean? Most major countries have adopted our software for their central forensic labs, and many also for the local police departments and other police forces. If you see on the news major crimes being investigated on CCTV, it’s very likely that the investigators or the analysts have been using our tools to work on the video evidence.
