The Role
This full-time position involves conducting forensic examinations of digital evidence in support of criminal investigations, working both in a laboratory setting and on-scene during law enforcement operations. The examiner provides technical support to investigators and attorneys and collaborates with prosecutorial agencies across Illinois, with regular in-state travel required.
Skills & Experience
A bachelor’s degree or higher in a computer-related field, or equivalent forensic or law enforcement experience, is required. One to three years of exposure to evidence handling and law enforcement practices is preferred. Relevant digital forensics certifications are valued, and candidates must be willing to qualify as an expert witness within one year.
