The Role
The examiner conducts forensically sound examinations of computers, smartphones and tablets, performing data extraction, file system analysis, timeline generation and malware triage. Responsibilities span the full evidence lifecycle — from acquisition and chain-of-custody management through to peer-reviewed technical reporting for government stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
Candidates must be proficient with EnCase, FTK, Magnet AXIOM, X-Ways and Autopsy, and experienced in mobile forensics using Cellebrite UFED or GrayKey. Knowledge of NTFS, APFS, EXT4 and other file systems is required, alongside DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security+) and an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
