Computer Forensic Examiner

Infotrend Inc

Washington DC-Baltimore

Hybrid · Senior · Full-time · $120,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

The Role

This position involves conducting end-to-end digital forensic examinations, from collection and imaging through analysis and reporting, across computers, mobile devices, and digital media. The examiner manages complex caseloads independently, maintains rigorous chain of custody, and presents defensible findings to attorneys, investigators, and other legal stakeholders, with occasional testimony in proceedings.

Skills & Experience

Candidates must hold a relevant degree and bring at least five years of current, hands-on forensic experience. Proficiency with tools such as Cellebrite, Magnet AXIOM, GrayKey, FTK, X-Ways, and EnCase is required. At least one recognised certification — CFCE, EnCE, CCE, ACE, CCPA, CCO, or equivalent — is mandatory, with multiple credentials strongly preferred.

Who It Suits

This role suits a seasoned forensic professional comfortable working autonomously on high-volume or legally sensitive matters. Someone who communicates technical findings clearly to non-technical audiences, thrives in a structured, standards-driven laboratory environment, and holds sole U.S. citizenship as required for this Washington D.C.-area hybrid position will be well matched.
