Introducing The AFCE Certification (Amped FIVE Certified Examiner)

Amped Software is pleased to announce they recently launched the AFCE (Amped FIVE Certified Examiner) Certification. After a long period of development, Amped is now excited to formally reveal that the certification is available to all eligible Amped FIVE users.

Why Become an Amped FIVE Certified Examiner?

As a global company providing software solutions for forensic video analysis and enhancement, Amped has always prioritized education on how to effectively use its products.

The company has decided to provide its users the opportunity to attain the AFCE certification by virtue of a formal examination. This certification will not only enrich users’ CVs but will also serve to demonstrate their expertise in the theoretical and practical elements of the flagship product Amped FIVE. Additionally, it will showcase the user’s proficiency in using the software.

When one’s knowledge and expertise can make a difference, credibility is highly important. Being able to explain the processes applied to an image or video associated with a criminal case should be a priority for every user.

The world of digital forensics is changing rapidly. Laboratory and professional requirements continue to develop in the industry, specifically in the field of video and image analysis. To keep up with the pace and excel in the field, acquiring the right knowledge and demonstrating competency is crucial.

It is crucial to understand that the AFCE Certification should not be misconstrued as a guarantee of tangible expertise in forensic video processing and analysis. Similarly, it does not imply immunity from scrutiny if users’ work fails to meet the required standards and ethical guidelines. However, this certification serves to demonstrate a user has passed an examination designed to test the ability to use the software, both from a theoretical and practical point of view.

AFCE Certification demonstrates an examiner’s level of competence with Amped FIVE. This recognition can increase quality assurance and highlight a user’s efforts to retain competency.

What is the AFCE Exam Format?

The exam consists of two main sections to be taken online:

  1. A number of multiple-choice questions based on the theoretical content covered during the Amped FIVE training course. These questions will also look to assess the user’s familiarity with the Amped FIVE interface and how the various program tools interact with each other.
  2. A number of practical exercises, to be completed using Amped FIVE, where the user will need to solve common challenges such as enhancing a license plate, revealing a billboard sign, or answering specific questions from a video.

After completing the online exam, the user will receive a notification of the results, including whether they have passed or failed.

If the user passes the exam, they will be issued a certificate of completion immediately. This will remain valid for a period of two years starting from the date of completion.

After two years, in order to maintain an active certification for another two years, it will be necessary to take another exam.

How to Prepare for the Exam

Users should have attended an Amped FIVE training in the past three years in order to make sure their knowledge meets the exam requirements.

Amped also suggests attending the Amped FIVE Training Modules or preparing for the exam by looking up valuable resources on Amped’s blog and YouTube channel. These resources include informative series such as “Video Evidence Pitfalls”, which focuses on the challenges and dangers one may encounter when dealing with images and videos during investigations. Additionally, the “How to Amped FIVE” and “Learn and solve it with Amped FIVE” series provide valuable information on how to use the software effectively.
