MSAB Announces Hawaii Five-O Competition for customers

Micro Systemation (MSAB) will release v5.0 of its XRY mobile forensic software pack to all existing customers on Friday 23rd April this week. To celebrate this new release; existing customers are being offered the opportunity to enter a competition to win a once in a lifetime holiday to Hawaii. The competition will run from 19th April to 14th May 2010 and the winner will be invited to fly to Hawaii and spend five days seeing the sights of the island culminating in a meeting with the Hawaiian Police Department. As part of the competition – the winner will hand over a brand new XRY system to the Hawaiian Police and tell them all about the benefits of using this technology to assist their investigations…Version 5.0 includes a rich new set of features and tools will speed up and improve the forensic recovery of data from mobile devices such as iPhone and satellite navigation systems like Tom Tom’s.

Version 5.0 release includes a new unified wizard for both logical and physical extractions and support for dumping and basic decoding of Sony Ericsson handsets. Recovery of physical data from Sony Ericsson handsets has long been a challenge due to the complexities of their operating systems and security protocols. This new breakthrough opens up a way for law enforcement to recover even more evidence in a forensically secure manner for production in court.

MSAB also introduced their new Google Earth export feature, allowing users to display GPS (geo-tagged) data in a format which can be quickly presented on Google Earth to assist with location identification.
