This role sits within the financial investigation arm of the Dutch tax authority, focusing on uncovering digital evidence in complex financial crime cases including fraud, money laundering, corruption and terrorist financing. Day to day, the investigator forensically acquires and analyses data from networks, cloud storage, communication platforms and digital financial systems, translating technical findings into actionable intelligence for multidisciplinary investigative teams. The role carries both an operational and advisory dimension: producing clear forensic reports, delivering knowledge-sharing workshops to colleagues, and collaborating with IT auditors, data experts and external law enforcement partners. Candidates need HBO-level education or equivalent experience, solid knowledge of networking, cloud environments and virtualisation, and ideally prior experience in forensic investigations. A Dutch investigative powers authorisation is required or must be obtained. The role suits a creative, flexible self-starter comfortable working irregular hours.
