Registration is open for Forensics Forward: Cybersecurity, Digital Evidence, and Justice. This one day online symposium takes place on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET (14:00 to 22:00 GMT/UTC).
It is co-hosted by digital forensics expert Robert B. Fried and Duquesne University’s Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law. Practitioners, academics and attorneys from the United States, the United Kingdom and Nigeria will present seven keynote sessions on how digital evidence is found, tested and presented today.
The Keynote Lineup (ET / GMT)
9:30 a.m. ET / 14:30 GMT: Navigating Private Investigation in the Nigerian Ecosystem
Prof. Adedeji Oyenuga, PhD, Professor of Forensic and Cyber Criminology and Security Studies, Lagos State University. He is an expert with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and he offers a rare inside look at how private investigation works in Nigeria.
10:30 a.m. ET / 15:30 GMT: What’s a Microsoft Encoder Doing in My Samsung Video?
Simon Biles is a digital forensics specialist and expert witness based in the UK, and co-host of the Forensic Focus podcast. His session is a practical forensic detective story that follows one odd encoder signature through acquisition, cloud cache artefacts, H.264 bitstreams and testing. It shows why changing your mind when the evidence calls for it is part of the job.
11:30 a.m. ET / 16:30 GMT: Vehicle Identification & Forensics: The Cellphone and Fingerprint with Wheels
Jeffrey Lehn, Page One, Inc. Over 20 years with the NYPD, Jeff created its Vehicle Forensics Unit and, as Director of the NYPD Auto Crime School, trained more than 4,000 investigators worldwide. He will show how vehicles have become rich sources of digital evidence.
12:30 p.m. ET / 17:30 GMT: Beyond the Database: Uncovering Hidden Evidence in SQLite WAL Files
Anna Truss, DefSec LLC. Write-Ahead Log files can hold modified and deleted records that the main database no longer shows. Attendees will learn how WAL files, transactions and checkpoints work, and how to recover what traditional examinations miss.
1:30 p.m. ET / 18:30 GMT: Artificial Intelligence Tools in Relativity aiR
Andrew Milauskas, Chief Operating Officer, Page One, Inc. His session looks at how AI assisted review is changing the way legal teams work through data.
2:30 p.m. ET / 19:30 GMT: Following the Money & Testing the Evidence: Digital Forensics in Financial Fraud Investigations
Christina Gotsis, Sitaras & Associates, PLLC. She is an attorney, CPA, Certified Fraud Examiner and cryptocurrency tracer whose experience includes the Madoff liquidation. Her session covers using digital evidence to trace and recover stolen funds.
3:30 p.m. ET / 20:30 GMT: The Silk Road: Homeland Security Lessons of Future Past
Dr. Shevach Berkovits, St. John’s University. An active law enforcement officer with more than 19 years of experience, he revisits a landmark dark web case and what it still teaches investigators today.
The day opens at 9 a.m. ET (14:00 GMT) with a welcome from co-hosts Robert B. Fried and Dr. Pamela Marshall, Director of the Cyril H. Wecht Institute, who also give the closing remarks at 4:30 p.m. ET (21:30 GMT).
