If you're looking for the location of the WhatsApp SQLCipher encryption/decryption key on the Windows Desktop version, you might find it a bit challenging. Typically, this key is not stored in an easily accessible file location. While you might search in paths such as C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Packages\5319275A.WhatsAppDesktop_cv1g1gvanyjgm\, it is unlikely to contain key-related files due to security measures taken by WhatsApp to protect user data.

For those interested in more detailed guidance or tools to help with this, you might want to explore specialized resources. One such resource is available for download, which could provide additional insights or tools related to app data management and decryption processes.

I don't know the exact details of the encryption scheme but if the Windows system uses UEFI then the values used to encrypt the database are stored there instead of the Windows filesystem itself.  Oxygen Forensics Detective can handle decryption of these databases.
