Digital Forensic Technician

The Role

The Digital Forensic Unit handles all digital evidence seized or acquired during serious fraud investigations. Day-to-day work involves forensic imaging, mobile device extraction, preparing acquired data for ingestion into a case review platform, performing supplementary analysis to identify evidential material, and maintaining accurate evidence management records in line with regulatory standards.

Skills & Experience

Candidates should be familiar with digital evidence acquisition procedures, evidence continuity and integrity principles, and relevant frameworks including ISO 17025 and ACPO/NPCC guidelines. Experience with forensic imaging tools, mobile device extraction, and laboratory system maintenance is expected. Clear written communication for reporting findings to case teams is also required.
