The Role

Working within the Office of Laboratories and Scientific Services at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the specialist conducts advanced forensic examination of digital and electronic media devices in a laboratory setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include mobile and computer forensic research, evidence preservation and authentication, and event reconstruction from digital artefacts.

Skills & Experience

Candidates must demonstrate IT-related experience underpinned by competencies in attention to detail, customer service, oral communication and problem solving. Core technical skills include conducting forensically sound mobile and computer examinations, developing and executing mobile device tool validation and verification test plans, and analysing a range of portable electronic media.
