Detego Global the Only Digital Forensics Provider Recognised at UK Security Innovation Awards

Pioneers in Unified Digital Investigations technology, Detego Global, were recognised with a UK Defence and Security Innovation award at the recently concluded Security and Policing summit. This prestigious award recognises the innovative capabilities and services developed by UK security companies, and identifies new capabilities that have caused a significant increase in the effectiveness of the UK’s ability to prevent, respond to, and reduce the impact of risks, incidents and threats.

Judged by a panel of high-ranking government officials and senior industry experts from the security and defence sectors, Detego’s Field Triage solution was selected due to its ability to empower investigation teams in the UK and beyond with cutting-edge technology that enables snap decision-making. Detego Global was the only digital forensics solution provider to be shortlisted for the award this year.

Detego’s Field Triage solution plays a key role in simplifying the investigative process for first-line responders in a range of time-critical situations. The technology enables investigators in lab and field-based environments to rapidly scan devices for suspicious materials by automating time-consuming data extraction and analytical processes.

The solution already enables a host of government, military and law enforcement teams around the world to rapidly identify and respond to security challenges with split-second decision-making. The solution’s ‘Red-Amber-Green’ alert system which has secured patents in the United States and the United Kingdom, works to reduce the strain on investigators and specialist labs by allowing team members with no prior technical experience to rapidly identify suspicious material on digital devices ranging from computers and servers to loose media.

Sharing his thoughts, the company’s CEO, Dave Kirk, said: “We are thrilled to be celebrating the success of our patented Field Triage solution. This recognition highlights the value Detego Global continues to deliver as a pioneering solutions provider that empowers investigators with the latest, most user-friendly tools while staying true to our pledge of solving the security challenges of the 21st century.”

Andy Lister, Detego’s  Managing Director added, “Innovations such as this are critical in an increasingly fast-paced digital environment. Today’s frontline officers are constantly on the lookout for an edge in the field and the lab. The innovative thinking behind Detego’s Field Triage helps address this need by increasing the efficiency and accuracy of investigations even when investigators are met with high-pressure, time-critical situations. This award bears testament to our ability to deliver tangible results to digital forensic investigators with real-time insights.”

Thanks to its light footprint, Field Triage can be deployed anywhere using USB sticks and other types of digital media. The solution provides users with the flexibility to customise keywords based on the types of investigations, enabling it to be deployed across a wide range of investigations relating to terrorism, Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE), Indecent Images Of Children (IIOC)/Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), human trafficking, financial crime and insider threats, while supporting the Child Abuse Image Database (CAID) and Project VIC. With its ability to make matches rapidly, an entire computer can be scanned in under 15 minutes.

Field Triage helps teams to adapt to changes in data, devices and encryption technologies without an additional training burden and ensures there is minimal skill fade among users – bridging the gap between the rapid growth in digital devices and a much slower-paced increase in digital forensics expertise.
