EnCase® OnLive Training Expands Customer Options

Recognizing the increased need for training options for remote learners, Guidance Software has expanded our online learning offerings. We’ve added a live, Internet streaming option for students who wish to attend our classes without making the trip to our classrooms.

EnCase OnLive takes the real-time, instructor-led power of the Guidance Software training classroom outside the walls of our six dedicated training centers and makes it available online through the proven Adobe Connect platform. The OnLive product compliments our already very successful, self-paced, EnCase® Training OnDemand product offering and gives our customer base the option to experience EnCase training in a greater variety of formats.EnCase OnLive brings the same instructor, the same shared view of the instructor’s monitor, the same smartboard technology, and even the same access to our classroom computers that is offered in our classrooms. The Adobe Connect platform is a standard in distance learning, and we maximize our use of the platform by streaming the instructor’s screen along with a video feed from the classroom. We integrate the use of the classroom smartboard to emphasize key learning points while each student is given remote access to their own classroom computer running EnCase as well as the other tools we’ve used in our classrooms to train more than 60,000 students.

Worried about what happens if you have a question? Don’t be. All classes are proctored by Guidance Software instructors who are part of the OnLive classroom, and through the interface, they can take and answer questions, provide remote assistance on the machines assigned to the students, or signal the lead instructor to review a topic. If you have a stable high-speed connection, dual monitors, and a headset, you may actually start to feel like you are sitting in one of our training facilities.

Addressing the travel budget challenges of today and the inconvenience too!

While worldwide economies have recently started to realize recovery from the challenges of the past half-decade, many private and public entities continue to experience complications in funding for travel. These challenges are often even more difficult when the travel is related to training and cannot be specifically tied to generating revenue. We all know the important role that continuing education plays in the success of our companies and the growth of our careers, yet finding money for that training and the travel needed to get there remains a major obstacle.

EnCase OnLive removes the travel expense from the continuing education process that is so vital for digital investigators. It brings the world-renowned expertise of our classrooms to your office, living room, or wherever you want your learning environment to be.

Available as individual courses, or as yet another valuable option for the Encase Training Passport

In 2014, Guidance Software will offer three of our most popular classes via OnLive. EnCase® Computer Forensics I, EnCase® Computer Forensics II, and the EnCE® Certification prep course will all be available in Q4. For 2015, we plan to expand the number of courses offered with the goal of delivering the option of OnLive training for most of our classes.

Attendance to these courses is available on a “per-seat” basis or as part of the EnCase® Annual Training Passport. The Annual Training Passport is a very popular training option as it offers one year of unlimited training at an extensive discount. With Passport, students can choose to attend classes at one of our Training centers, take online self-paced courses through EnCase Training OnDemand, and now also attend instructor-led OnLive courses. For about the cost of two of our regular training courses, you get all of the courses and delivery methods in our extensive training catalog instead of just ONE remote training course offered by some others companies.
