Nuix has appointed Paul Slater as Director of Forensic Solutions. Slater brings to the role nearly 20 years’ experience in investigations, digital forensics and electronic disclosure as a police officer and consultant.
Slater started his career in forensic technology as a Computer Forensic Investigator in the Greater Manchester Police. He later served as interim head of the Digital Forensics Unit in the United Kingdom Serious Fraud Office. Since leaving law enforcement, Slater has worked for seven years as a digital forensics advisor to legal, corporate and government clients.“We are delighted to have an expert with Paul Slater’s skill and experience join us on the Nuix team” said Dr. Jim Kent, CEO, EMEA and Head of Investigations at Nuix. “Paul has been a power user and advocate of Nuix software for many years. By shifting the Serious Fraud Office’s focus from painstaking digital forensics to a broader investigative workflow using Nuix, he enabled them to process 20 times more electronic evidence each year.”
Slater was a member of the review board for the 2012 update of the UK Association of Chief Police Officers’ Good Practice Guide for Digital Evidence. He will be based in Nuix’s London office.
“Nuix Investigator allows investigators to intelligently drive their investigations in ways that traditional forensic tools and workflows no longer can,” said Slater. “I see huge potential in the product and company and I’m excited to help Nuix expand in the digital forensics market across Europe.”
