Paraben And VTO Labs Bring You Chip-Off Training

In the world of locked devices sometimes you have to take forensics to the next level.

Mobile forensics has quickly evolved into device forensics with the emerging area of IoT devices. The needs to be able to process devices with a technique commonly referred to as a chip off has become a necessity for many labs. The chip off forensics method will enable you to acquire data from devices when all other efforts have been exhausted. This method requires that you physically remove a chip from the device in order to extract the data.“This is a very new technique for many labs and being able to understand the fundamentals behind it, be able to perform the task, and then read and understand the data are the cornerstones that VTO really focused on. Partnering with them to offer these classes was a no brainer with their expertise and the Paraben analytics we felt there was a 360-degree approach for chip off that came about naturally.” Stated Amber Schroader, CEO of Paraben Corporation

This 5-day Chip Off Forensics Essentials class brings the latest advancements in chip rework and chip off techniques to practitioners in area of digital forensics. The class teaches four methods for safely removing computer chips: traditional heated removal, milling, lap and polish and vapor phase. Then you really get to dig deep into understanding the data that is captured and how it can be applied to your investigation. Paraben and VTO classes feature a strong emphasis on hands-on practice of the techniques taught in the class. All class participants leave the class with the knowledge, hands-on experience and scientific background to effectively bring these techniques into their labs.

Steve Watson, CEO of VTO, Inc adds, “VTO is committed to growing the knowledge base of digital forensics practitioners. We welcome the opportunity to train Paraben users in complementary technical skills.”
All Chip Off Training will be held at VTO labs based in Colorado and registration can be done through the Paraben website or by emailing training@paraben.com
