“During the second quarter of 2013, our development team focused on taking a robust, feature-rich forensic software solution and fine-tuning it by significantly boosting evidentiary data search and processing speeds,” said Drew Fahey, Vice President of Product Development. “BlackLight 2013 R2 leverages multi-core workstation capabilities even more efficiently, and allows examiners to manually set the maximum number of core processors BlackLight utilizes according to task-based processing requirements. The result is improved speed, performance, and overall product stability.”

BlackLight 2013 R2 also includes valuable new GPS evidence analysis and mapping features, including Apple Maps data processing and analysis, and enhanced Google Earth file format support.

“BlackBag was founded on a desire to do our part to improve forensic investigation efficiency and effectiveness, especially when it comes to protecting those who are most vulnerable,” said Derrick Donnelly, Chief Technology Officer. “As such, BlackLight 2013 R2 now includes Apple Maps user preference and activity analysis, and a GPS metadata export option that allows examiners to map and present picture and video geolocation evidence in Google Earth. Our hope is that these features will further facilitate investigation team collaborations, and help law enforcement locate at-risk individuals quickly.”
