New Modules Offer Increased Capabilities & Value for the Tableau TD3 Imager

Effective January 15th, 2014, three new hardware modules designed to increase the value and performance of the Tableau TD3 Forensic Imaging System began shipping. Released in 2011, the Tableau TD3 quickly has become the market leader in standalone forensic duplication, due to its high performance, reliability and ease of use. TD3 supports forensic imaging of SATA, IDE, USB 3.0, SAS and FireWire storage devices, and iSCSI network shares. No other forensic duplicator available today matches TD3 for its unique combination of performance, modular packaging, forensic capabilities and usage models. TD3’s capabilities have been enhanced with the delivery of two additional expansion modules and one new storage module.Output to SuperSpeed USB 3.0 with the TDPX8-RW Expansion Module

Digital Forensic investigators can now add the flexibility and performance of SuperSpeed USB 3.0 when writing out to USB 3.0 storage devices with the TDPX8-RW expansion module. When connected to the TD3 expansion port, TDPX8-RW can be selected as an output destination in the TD3’s touchscreen, gesture-driven setup parameters. Rather than outputting their .e01 forensic image or .dd clone files to a SATA drive, some DF investigators are increasingly looking at USB 3.0 storage peripherals as a preferred option, whether it be for the enhanced drive protection a permanent enclosure provides, or for the option of employing secure encrypted, keypad-authenticated data protection. Now, that option is as simple as connect, select and go.

Best of all, as of January 15th, 2014, all new TD3 Forensic Imaging System kits will include one TDPX8-RW USB 3.0 expansion module, at no additional charge. Additional modules may be purchased at an MSRP of $99.

Enhanced Networking Options with the TDPXE Dual-Gigabit Ethernet Expansion Module

For network-based forensic acquisitions, remote triage applications or over-the-network “write blocking”, TD3 comes with an integral network connection. New for 2014 is the optional TDPXE Dual-Gigabit Ethernet expansion module. This module offers the flexibility of two additional network connections and significantly improved networking performance. A TD3 equipped with the TDPXE has three network connections, which can be used to simultaneously read from a suspect network volume, write to a lab network server, or preview / triage through a remotely attached network forensic workstation. The TDPXE module is offered as an option for TD3 users, and may be purchased at an MSRP of $139.

New TDS2 Storage Module is Much More than Just Another SATA HDD Enclosure

Also new for 2014 is the TDS2 storage module, a 3.5” SATA drive enclosure. TDS2 supports easy, “tool-less” hard drive insertion and removal. The locking handle on TDS2 enables easy hard drive replacement while also securing hard drives within the fan-cooled enclosure. No need for cable connection when using TDS2; the SATA power and signal connections are made directly between the TD3 and TDS2. TDS2s are built to support simultaneous imaging to two SATA drives. Simply connect two TDS2s, one on top of the other, to enable ‘Twinning’ mode.

As an added value, beginning on January 15th, 2014, all new TD3 Forensic Imaging System kits will include one TDS2 storage module, at no additional charge. Additional TDS2s may be purchased at an MSRP of $139.
