Oxygen Forensics has updated its flagship mobile evidence discovery solution, Oxygen Forensic Suite 2014, with additional extraction options. The new release adds or expands acquisition support for Apple iOS 8.0 including the brand new iPhone 6/6Plus, Windows Phone and BlackBerry 10 devices, Nokia NBU backups and Android 4.4.4 ADB backups.
“Acquisition is a major stage in mobile forensics”, says Oleg Fedorov, Oxygen CEO. “This release adds extended acquisition support for several ranges of mobile devices. We are committed to keeping our product at the cutting edge of technology, supporting new mobile platforms as soon as they hit the market.”The new release continues expanding mobile acquisition and data extraction options available to digital forensic specialists. The expanded acquisition support is available in all editions including Oxygen Forensic Suite, Oxygen Forensic Passware Analyst and Oxygen Forensic Extractor.
Support for Apple iPhone 6/6Plus, Apple iOS 8.0 and iTunes 11.4
The latest Oxygen Forensic Suite 2014 now includes preliminary support for the new iPhone 6/6Plus and all Apple devices supporting the newly released iOS 8.0, implementing data extraction, parsing and analysis of information.
Windows Phone Acquisition with 8.1 Support
Oxygen Forensic Suite 2014 enables live extraction of contacts and calls from Windows Phone devices including models running the new Windows Phone 8.1. In addition to previously available flash drive analysis, the latest version of Oxygen’s award-winning tool adds acquisition support over cable and Bluetooth connection during a single acquisition session. Obtaining information over a wired and wireless connection allows extracting more data than is available over a single link. In addition, acquiring information from Windows Phone cloud enables experts to gain access to device messages.
BlackBerry 10 Acquisition
Acquisition support for BlackBerry 10 devices is also expanded with live data extraction. Forensic experts can gain full access to device contacts, messages, calls, calendar events, notes, tasks, file system and most popular applications data.
In addition to existing BlackBerry devices, the latest update adds forensic support for BlackBerry Z10, BlackBerry Z3, BlackBerry Z30, BlackBerry Q5, and BlackBerry Q10.
Android 4.4.4 ADB Backups
The newest Android build has been around for some time, with many newer models released with Kit Kat 4.4.4 on-board. Oxygen Forensic Suite 2014 adds forensic acquisition support for the latest version of Android, enabling investigators importing and parsing data from ADB backups created by Android OS 4.4.4 devices.
Nokia NBU Extraction
The Nokia brand is extinct, but many Nokia phones are still floating around. The updated Oxygen Forensic Suite 2014 adds the ability to import and parse data from Nokia NBU backups. Support for Nokia NBU backups enables investigators viewing backup data created with Nokia PC Suite including contacts, messages, calendar events, notes, tasks, file system and other available information.
About Oxygen Forensic Suite 2014
Oxygen Forensic Suite 2014 helps investigators and forensic specialists access and analyze data from a variety of mobile devices such as cell phones, smartphones, communicators, PDA and tablet PCs. Currently supporting more than 8,400 different models, Oxygen Forensic Suite 2014 covers the widest range of mobile devices compared to competition, and allows fully automated acquisition and analysis of supported devices.
The unique Timeline feature offers convenient, single-place access to all activities and movements performed by one or several users arranged by date and time. Investigators can track user location at every moment, build and map their historic routes, and clearly see all activities performed by the user at each location.
Another signature feature of Oxygen Forensic Suite allows investigators to perform a global search on all devices ever analyzed with the toolkit. The global search quickly reveals any connections (e.g. common contacts, exchanged calls, texts or emails) between the phone owners.
Oxygen’s statistical analysis tools allow investigators discover social connections between the users of multiple mobile devices. Calls, text messages and various messengers’ conversations are analyzed to produce charts and tables revealing the users’ closest circle at a glance.
Oxygen Forensic Suite 2014 guarantees zero-footprint operation, leaving no traces and making no modifications to the content of the devices. This makes it the tool of choice among government and law enforcement agencies, security services, and forensic organizations in more than fifty countries.
