Digital Forensic Investigator

The Role

Working within the Criminal Investigation Section, the investigator collects, preserves, and forensically examines digital evidence from computers, mobile devices, gaming consoles, GPS units, cloud platforms, and removable media. Day-to-day duties include preparing expert reports and disclosure packages, attending crime scenes, providing court testimony, and advising investigators on evidence-handling best practices.

Skills & Experience

A two-year diploma in Computer Science, IT, Digital Forensics, or Cybersecurity is required, alongside a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in digital forensic investigations or a closely related field. Proficiency with industry-standard forensic hardware and software, knowledge of evidentiary legislation, and experience with encrypted or deleted data recovery are expected.
