The Role
Practitioners conduct complex digital forensic casework from a dedicated laboratory and mobile labs, responding to search warrant sites across Washington State. Day-to-day work spans evidence acquisition, analysis of computers, mobile devices, cloud services and IoT, chain-of-custody documentation, written reporting, and expert testimony in civil and criminal proceedings.
Skills & Experience
A minimum of five years in digital forensics is required, with at least two years in a forensic laboratory environment. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in forensic acquisition methods, analysis of structured and unstructured data, evidentiary integrity practices, and compliance with accreditation and legal standards. A relevant bachelor’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
