Remote · Senior · Full-time · $110,000 - $136,000 a year

The Role

This position leads forensic investigations across host, network, and application environments while guiding clients through containment, remediation, and recovery. Day to day involves triaging active security incidents, identifying attacker tactics, developing investigative tooling, producing reports, and working directly alongside client IT teams during rebuilds and reconfiguration.

Skills & Experience

Candidates should bring senior-level DFIR expertise combined with a strong background in systems or network administration. Hands-on experience with EDR deployment, scripting, IOC development, and security controls is essential. The ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical teams and executive stakeholders is equally important.

Who It Suits

This role suits an experienced incident responder who is equally comfortable conducting deep forensic analysis and rolling up their sleeves to support practical recovery efforts. Those who thrive in high-pressure, client-facing environments and can serve as a trusted technical authority during an organisation’s most critical moments will excel here.

Typical advertised salary for Incident Response roles in United States: $125,000–$179,000 (median $149,000 — from 108 recent listings analysed by Forensic Focus).
